Life on the Island

We have been living on the island for the week and I can't wait to get back there on Monday. Edwin's class is going well and the girls and I love going across the street to play at the beach every day. The water, sand, and playground are all right there and it is wonderful! I have discovered that a rinse off is nessecery before heading home or Grace crunches on the sand and Anne will suck her hands clean! YUCK!!!

Having two homes for the month is a lot of fun, we've had to be a little creative with some things, but it's a great break from normal life. We like the island, and I've found the people to be very friendly overall. The more we are here the more we want to stay. The weather is perfect...not too hot and not too cold. A few storms just makes the ocean roar and then we get to watch the surfers and large waves.

It's been a great vacation for me...I've been able to work on my own hobbies... it's been FABULOUS!

Pictures to come soon!

Surviving Parenthood

Some nights the only way to brush Grace's teeth before bed is to let her brush mine too!
Doesn't that look like fun?!? Anyone want to let Grace brush their teeth too?
I really like that Anne is watching in the mirror....ah one day she too will have teeth and enjoy this pleasurable experience.

The Trip Home

Hoover Dam was a neat drive...they have some serious road projects in progress.
We were amazed by the gorge this bridge is going to span in the future!
AMAZING!!!
We found a little park in Junction, Tx where we were able to get a few wiggles out before continuing our drive home.

Another wiggle stop. We sure had a good time even if it took us six days to get home.

(Is now a good time to mention that whoever wasn't driving sat in the back between the carseats. Good thing we have narrow bums because it was a TIGHT fit!)

This road trip took us through Texas, Okalahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Things went quite well considering the undertaking. Thankfully Edwin and I waited until we were home (at least mostly home) before illness caught up with us! However, 3 1/2 hours from home when you have the stomach flu is no way to end a trip! Oh well, we made it!

Christmas Day in the Snow

Grace with Aunt Leonora in the snow fort

Aunt Karen, Cousin Gabe, and Grace enjoy the marble run!

The best solution over an exciting car is to let one kid ride and one kid push!
Thanks Gabe for being a gentleman and letting Grace ride in style!
