Nauvoo Again

Our first stop in Nauvoo was the Family Living Center. Here we were going to learn about daily life and the things you needed to do to prepare for the next season. There was weaving, spinning, bread baking, candle making, rope making, barrel making, pottery, and much more to see and do. Grace and Anne quickly found the cradle filled with pioneer babies.

It took the entire family to make a rope.

We took a little walk, saw some critters crawling on the ground, enjoyed a delicious ginger bread cookie from the bakery, looked at the outhouse for a while and peered down the well. Then found this treasured park.

Grace was working hard all day while the rest of us sat and ate lunch.

Anne came running to help Grace.

Grace and Anne greeted Gary, the ox, before we put him to work on our wagon ride. Gabe is the other ox, but he's not as people friendly.

Zoe and Molly joined us on this ride.

Nauvoo can't be experienced without a stop at the Blacksmith's shop.

This will probably be the last visit for a while, but we are eagerly planning our trips for the spring! We love Nauvoo!
