Ale, Maya, and other Kids

Alejandra is five.
Maya is three.
We had the priviledge of watching these two girls for a week while their parents were away for medical reasons.  I've wondered what I've been doing with my days lately, and well....I finally uploaded the camera to discover my days are usually spent with other children!  We love play dates!

Ryan and Ben came over to play StarWars with us while mom went to the doctor.  She delivers twins on Friday.  We expect to see these Jedi's often.
Here is our wild boy play date.  Charlie and Eli (on the left) were here so their mom could help Clifton's  family move (boy on the right wearing Superman Shirt).
Our girls are learning to play with boys a bit better.  However, they are still very girlie and enjoy playing Barbies.  The boys are often found playing Barbies and girl games too.  My favorite is when they all play dress up and I find the boys in the pink fuzzie jacket. I think every little boy has worn it at least once!

Sew Fun

January: Purchased Fabric on Clearance
February: Found the Pattern for $1
May: Moved into our new place and cut out the skirt
June: Mother motivated me to keep sewing
July: Daughters were persistant in their request
August: I DID IT!!!!
Both girls chose their colors and details.  Anne is a Pink and Purple Purist
Grace went for the Rainbow effect, and I love it!

The day I finished Grace made plans for her next dress....
Halloween is just around the corner and I've got to get busy sewing!

The Timid and The Brave

THE TIMID
Grace was so shy and uncertain about this zip line, despite my best efforts and example. I love how encouraging Anne is in this photo.  She already went down it several times by herself before Grace would attempt it.

THE BRAVE
Anne turned 3 the week this photo was taken.  So little. So Brave.

Museums in June

I'm behind on the blog.  When I'm finally caught up you will understand why I'm so far behind.  Summer has been full of adventures yet to be documented and now we are gearing up to hunker down for the winter.
The following pictures were taken in June while the kids and I were in Idaho with my two neices, Jessica and Kaylee.

Anne (3) Grace (4) Jessica (10)  James (9 months) Kaylee (5)
Idaho Potato Museum, Blackfoot, Idaho
The Sorter
James is driving a potato harvester
Jessica and Kaylee drove it too.
Tools and Machines from the past.
Anyone want to ride on some metal wheels?!

James and Grandma Peggy had a great time together.

We also stopped in Fort Hall to visit the Bannock Tribal Museum.
I purchased a copy of my favorite childhood book, Naya Nuki, Shoshoni Girl who Ran by Kenneth Thomasa.  It is a true story about a 10 year old girl who is captured by an enemy tribe and her brave journey back to her family. Jessica and I enjoyed reading after the little ones were asleep.
The day was topped off with ice cream and the playground.

What a deliciously, delightful day.
